Retreat for musicians in Mallorca

One week Resonance and nature - Mallorca, January 26 - February 2, 2018

You and your artistic goal // One week of well-being, in the middle of nature, without phones, TV, internet // Time for you and for new impulses // Time to rest, move, and practice

What's the artistic goal that you're pursuing? Winning an audition? Not only surviving the upcoming tour with your quartet, but also enjoying it fully, every single evening? Entering the ensemble of the Staatstheater? Being invited as a guest performer? Living your creative power as a memeber of your orchestra? Or, simply, answering the questions that you've been carrying with you for years (years!)?

All these are goals that we help other musicians attain, musicians that have trusted us.

We want to support you in developing the skills for a free and vibrant musicianship, and, as a consequence, mastering stressful situations (like auditions, exams and live-broadcasts) with grace and ease.

We're offering a retreat for musicians in the beginning of 2018, where you can join us with your personal goal or topic. We want to create a space with you, in which you can find the direction that makes sense for you, with the tools that help you achieve your artistic goals: physically, mentally, and emotionally.

About us

We're Maria Busqué (picture right): feelance harpsichordist, pianist, piano teacher and Resonance Trainer from Berlin, and Inken Renner (picture left): orchestra musician (violin), Resonance Trainer and Co-Active Coach from Darmstadt.

A few years ago, we were in a very similar situation like you.

Maria was looking for a long time for a way to be more in her playing, as opposed to observing it and having to be careful about it. After the first contact with Resonance Training, she genuinely appreciated the directness and musicalness of this approach. She had, from then on, the necessary tools to try new challenges, and especially: to be more open and deliberate about her learning process.

After winning a position at Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Inken looked for new ways to live her creative power in her everyday routina as an orchestra musician. Through Resonance Training, new possibilities opened up for her not only in this area: she learned to take off the shoulder-rest and play the violin without it. Until today, she plays operas by Wagner and Strauss like this. A feeling of freedom, especially in the sound!

We met in the Resonance Teacher Training and quickly got to appreciate one another - especially since we're both from such different backgrounds. That's why we knew that we just had to offer this retreat together!

Maria can hardly wait for the retreat to start.

Here are some of the musical institutions that have trusted us so far: C. Bechstein Centrum Berlin // Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears // Mallorca Summer Academy // Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen // Institut für Instrumental- und Gesangspädagogik, BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg // Österreichische Gesellschaft für Musik und Medizin // International Federation for Choral Music // SuzukiMusik Deutschland // Orchesterakademie des Hessischen Staatsorchesters Wiesbaden //

"Inken discovered exactly where I had my "blocks", thanks to her great sensitivity." Stefania Erzmoneit, singer, Berlin

"Maria's impulses are standing the test of my ongoing day-to-day activity as an orchestra musician: at intensive days with rehearsals, meetings and concerts I could reduce the physical tiredness enormously." Matthias Buck, violin, Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen

Workshop topics

The topics are set to the individual needs of the participants: individual preparation for auditions, exams and concerts // physical well-being in the musical context, even under stressful conditions // effective practice // floor, body, space and sound as elements of artistic expression // emotion in the sound and in the music // free improvisation for a creative, perception-oriented performance // reducing and dissolving tensions and pain

This method can be applied in many situations, e.g. to achieve a greater freedom in playing or to overcome tensions, and stage fright. Find out more about Resonance Training here.
